I’m Maya! I’m a recent graduate from The University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Entertainment and Media Studies from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and a Bachelors Degree in English from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

I’m a current script reader for the Austin Film Festival and was just the technical intern for UGA’s Writing Intensive Program where I conducted my own season of the RedPenned Podcast and ran the WIP Instagram page. I was recently the podcast editor at The Red and Black Publishing Co., and I am also the receptionist and social media assistant at Rizo’s Hair Studio, and now a UGA Alumni looking for a position that’s a perfect blend of my passions, skills, and capabilities!

MAYA N. GOTSCHALL

Creative Writer, Director, Social Media Manager, and Assistant

Bachelors in entertainment media studies & English

from The University of Georgia

During my time at the University of Georgia I was studying and working towards an Entertainment and Media Studies degree through Grady College, and an English degree through Franklin College. The reasoning behind this pairing of degrees is for the hope that my future career reflects and revolves around literature and film. The ultimate goal of my education and career is to indulge in as much as I can, become as rounded and formatted to literature and film and the paralleling aspects and the transference between the two- the interconnection. Due to my insatiable curiosity paired with my vicarious escapism, it makes sense that I could never stop adding stacks upon stacks of books to an endlessly growing collection. It also makes sense that once I got my own laptop, I further expressed that need into film and television. I would spend way too many hours understanding and partaking myself in the research and discoveries to know all that occurred behind the screen and within a story that I loved. I would become fascinated with everything that went into creating such masterpieces that I had consumed daily. My career aspirations, however, is essentially to become an imaginative aspect of a production team, either creative directing, writing, producing, etc. of film and tv shows that are based off of novels and other literary pieces. I want to be actively creative and diligent in my career, doing something that I love.
